DETAILS:
Location: Cambridge, NZ.
Days/hours: (Full time) Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm (longer hours required on occasion but we are flexible).
Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate.
Start: January 2025.
THE ROLE/ KEY COMPETENCIES:
Primarily riding green off the track TBs - in the arena, teaching them to jump, basic flatwork foundations, and hacking out (on hills and at the beach).
To be a balanced, confident, kind, patient rider who is fit and able.
Competent in using a DSLR camera to take photos and recording quality iPhone videos.
You need a high standard of turnout and to take pride in the presentation of yourself (no crocs), the horses and the environment we work in.
Ability to lunge, handle, tack up, cover, and load/unload horses in a relaxed confident manner.
Willingness to work rain, hail, or shine and show up each day with a positive attitude.
Proficient communication and the ability to access/discuss each horse’s ability, strengths, and weaknesses.
Background in dressage, jumping, and handling green horses. Previous experience with TBs is preferred but not essential as long as you are confident and willing to learn!

DISCLAIMER:
EventStars is a fast-paced environment that is not for the faint-hearted. If you are not hard-working, adaptable, and willing to knuckle down and get your hands dirty, then this is not the environment for you. You NEED to be confident with very green youngsters and not be scared of riding in the open, often hilly or beach environments where we will take the horses to explore or for a good run.
Your willingness to ride must be matched with your desire to work on the ground, take photos, turn-out horses, and contribute to the day-to-day runnings of an Equestrian property (harrowing, feeding out, spraying, etc.). These elements are just as important as riding.
The job is located in Cambridge (NZ) and there is no accommodation or grazing provided, sorry.
Start date - January 2025 but again, flexible...
